Hi I’m alive!
Am I important enough to make a life update? Do any of you even care? My logic says no but my ego says yes. Guess who I’m gonna listen to? THAT’S RIGHT WELCOME TO THE LIFE UPDATE!!!
Even typing this feels so weird it’s almost like I haven’t done this for the past four months <cough cough>. Anywho what’s up with this Elon vs Mark Zuckerberg thing? (was that a good topic-change?)
It’s been quite some time since I last posted. The blog was down for the past three months and stupidly I noticed only in July…one month after it went off the servers. There was some issues with the hosting and a plugin error but I won’t bore you with the details. Thankfully with the help of the amazing support staff at Bluehost we resolved the issue and the blog is up and running again. I also had a genuine scare when I was told the backups could be gone because I had noticed it so late, basically I almost lost all of my previous posts and all of my data because I don’t check my emails often enough. Fortunately, Bluehost’s cape-less crusaders came to the rescue again with a horde of backups that were just a week away from being auto-deleted 💀
Thankfully the blog is up and running again (although we lost the Google #1 spot for the search ‘Bookgest’ 🙁
But I actually realized how important this blog is to me when I almost lost it and that’s why I’m back. I was getting quite a few emails about if I deleted the blog because it wasn’t accessible and I hadn’t posted for quite some time before it went underground. That’s why I felt the need to give you guys an update on how everything is going.
Like I said in the last post I’m a high school senior now, 12th grade…I now know what senioritis feels like. Although senioritis can’t hold a candle to my already inconsistent motivation, I am gearing up a bit when it comes to academics. I am soon going to give college entrance exams which are quite important to getting my real life qualifications here in India. Fortunately I’m studying something I enjoy so while it is tiring, it isn’t a complete bummer. Reading has taken a bit of a hiatus which is weird because it has been one of the very few constants in my life but I am learning a lot about myself everyday now that I am outside my comfort zones.
I also won the school minister elections for 12th grade this year, which was not something I had expected when jotting down goals for this year. But the most fun part of the entire thing was campaigning. For me it was much more important to have the best campaign in my school’s history than to win the elections. So I tried to put my own unique spin on it and ran as a ‘dictator’. For my speech I did a stand-up set and although it was risky, it paid off dividends when I heard my name being announced as the winner. There is a lot of responsibility now, but it isn’t something I’m unfamiliar with, thanks to this blog. However, I am doing a better job as a minister than I am being a blogger.
Needless to say, I do have a midterm exam day after tomorrow which is probably the reason why I am posting today but this update was long due anyways.
So ya that’s pretty much it for this post, hope you guys liked it. I probably won’t post again this year but don’t hold me to that because I just might feel like posting.
